Linguamix was founded by Peter Laufenberg and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with a development team in Paris, France. Previously, Peter worked during twenty years in the computer video game industry as C++ software engineer for customers including Disney, Warner Brothers, Electronic Arts, Atari (formerly Infogrames), Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Microsoft (including MSN and Microsoft Research), Macromedia (now Adobe), Intel and Motorola, among others.
Before the call of entrepreneurship, Peter studied computer science at the University of Geneva, Florida Institute of Technology, Arizona State University and worked at the United Nations' Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Geneva. Peter was special assistant to Professor Paolo Zanella, former director of the European Center for Particle Physics' (CERN) computer department. Peter was also a member of the International Business Incubator in San Jose, California (Silicon Valley) from 1997 to 2000, headed by Barbara Harley.
Having grown up in Geneva, Switzerland and traveled much thereafter, Peter acquired six languages along the way to various degrees, living (not visiting) in France, Germany, Italy, the US (East and West), Brazil (North and South) and Spain.
